Review of "Lupin Leaps In: A Breaking Cat News Adventure" by Georgia Dunn

I always enjoy Georgia Dunn's delightful illustrated books about three cat journalists on the CN (cat news) network who report news of interest to cats. The kitties - Lupin, Elvis, and Puck - are housecats that live with 'the woman' and 'the man.' Added to the mix are the toddler and the baby, and it's all good fun.

In this book the cats are concerned with the man not having a tail; the woman dressing them up for holidays; Hispanic cats living upstairs; old wives tales about cats; Elvis getting lost in the snow; the toddler and the new baby; the cat-sized door (laundry chute) in the bathroom; a robot rattlesnake (electric shaver) attacking the man's face; and much more.

As a bonus, the book contains an illustrated section at the end that provides tips on cartooning. Included are instructions for drawing Lupin, Elvis, and Puck; suggestions for sketching facial expressions; advice on drawing your own pet as a reporter; and tips about sketching other characters.

Here are some examples of cat news cartoons:

The cats are trying to discover who's a good boy.

The man and woman bring home a new baby.

The woman buys gourmet cat food.

The cats discuss the benefits of ankle rubbing.

The cats mistake an electric razor for a robot snake.

Great book for cat lovers everywhere.
